The faculty and I take to heart the awesome responsibility we have in guiding you through your school years. We pledge to you that we will create and implement a plan of study that will enable you to have many choices in life open to you when you graduate from this school.
If your success in education and learning were just a product of hard work from the faculty, educational success could be guaranteed. Its not. Your willingness and ability to do the following things will make the difference between success and failure:
-
You have to be willing to attend school regularly. Even the best teachers can't teach someone who isn't present.
-
You need to assist us in building a school culture and environment that is conducive to learning. Essentially, this is accomplished by being kind to others.
-
You must take advantage of the learning opportunities that are offered. Be productive. Don't come here to just watch the teachers work. Do your work; don't interfere with others as they work and learn.
Some of you may think that you are just not a "school person"; that you are not smart. That's not smart thinking. SMART isn't something that you just are: It's something you GET. SMART comes from being willing to WORK HARD. The more effort you are willing to put into your education, the ''SMARTER" you'll get.
William Wordsworth said "The child is the father of the man". He is telling us that what we do during our formative years does much to determine our future as adults. Remember you will be an adult much longer than a child. Be SMART: Invest in your future.
